PARC is a family-centered organization that has been committed to providing support services to people with developmental disabilities in our community for over 65 years.

We offer the following services for people with developmental disabilities and their families:

PARC Adult Life Skills: The program focuses on developing skills for independent living, including safety measures.  Students improve communication skills (conversation and telephone skills), basic consumer skills, (money, time, information) and functional reading skills. This class now meets on Mondays,  Fall and Spring semesters, at PARC. Please call PARC at 860-747-0316 for registration information, or email edonovan@parcdisabilitiesct.org

PARC’s Programs:  Our program is designed to provide weekly evening social activities for our members. The programs incorporate individual activities as well as activities that require teamwork. Members are able to participate in all of the programs regardless of their physical abilities.

Healthy Living Activities: Sponsored by grants from the United Way, the American Savings Foundation and the Elizabeeth Harding Norton Trust, Healthy Living Activities include fitness activities at the Wheeler YMCA, yoga, and healthy cooking.  We also offer Wii/IPad game nights, crafts, bowling, basketball, swimming, dances, seasonal parties, and community outings incorporated throughout the year.

Camp Trumbull: PARC offers a six-week summer program which is sponsored by grants from the American Savings Foundation and Norton Trust Fund. Camp Trumbull, in coordination with the Plainville, New Britain Community school districts, allows school-aged community members with developmental disabilities the opportunity to enjoy fun summer activities with other children their age while also maintaining the social, functional, and academic skills they have learned throughout the school year.
